| In this article, starting from phosphorus oxychloride,1,3-propanediol,3-aminopropanol and (3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane, two novel silicon-contained phosphoramide2-((3-(trimethoxysi-lyl)propy)amino)-1,3,2-dioxaphosphinane TM1and2-((3-(trimethoxysilyl)propy)amino)-1,3,2-o-xazaphosphinane TM2were synthesized in61.0%and64.0%yield. Their structure were characterized by1HNMR,13CNMR,31PNMR, HRMS and FT-IR analyses, respectively.Silicon-contained phosphoramide TM1and TM2were applied on cotton fabrics by the dip-pad-cure process respectively. The thermostabilities, changes of surface morphology, flame retardant properties and durability of the cotton fabric samples were then studied. The thermal gravimeric analysis (TGA) showed that the initial decomposition temperatures of cotton fabrics treated with TM1and TM2were lower than the untreated one. Furthermore, the amounts of char residue for the treated samples were much higher than the untreated one at600℃respectively.The surface morphological changes of the treated cotton samples were observed through SEM micrographs before and after burning. It is showed that both TM1and TM2can form a protective char layer on the top of treated cotton samples. This kind of char layer could be useful to stop the burning process. The flame retardant properties of cotton fabrics treated with TM1and TM2were studied by limited oxygen index (LOI) measurement. The LOI reached29.9%and31.6%from initial18%when TM1was applied at the level of25%and30%respectively. The LOI reached29.1%and31.7%from initial18%when TM2was applied at the level of25%and30%respectively.The laundry resistance test showed the treated cotton fabrics had good flame retardant properties after5,10times laundering, the LOI to26.7%after10times laundering. Even after15times landering, the treated cotton fabrics still had a certain flame retardant properties. In conclusion, it was concluded that silicon-contained phosphoramide TM1and TM2both showed good flame retardant and laundry resistance properties on cotton fabrics... |
