According to the specific geological conditions of a mine in Linfen in Shanxi Province, and theoretical research of the reasonable retainment Width of section coal pillar in hard roof and thick coal seam, it is studied and determined that reasonable retainment Width of section coal pillar in the area by applying the integrated research method of combining theoretical analysis and numerical simulation and similar simulation and field measurement.Because of the thick and hard roof of9-10coal, through theoretical judgment the roof caving method and that intensity. During mining,it is that field observation in retainment30m width of section coal pillar, know it basic appear law of mining pressure. On the basis of elasticity plastic theory,the indination of working face: The i. e. the plastic zone it is affected by adjacent working face mining and tunnel excavation on section coal pillar both sides; the advancing of working face:determine safety coefficient by numerical simulation, make a final determination of reasonable retainment5m width of section coal pillar.The load of the overlying coal pillar is calculated with the knowledge of coal load, where the "three zones" of overburden rock formations development situation on the wo rking face in the geological condition were obtained through the similar material simula tion experiment.The change of permeability coefficient of coal pillar under load and sp ecific permeability coal pillar width are obtained combining with seepage mechanics an d rock mechanics. Compared with theoretical pillar width, the reasonable width of coal pillar is determined.We make some specific applications to a coal mine working face so as to testify whether5m width of section coal pillar. We observe the pressure of the roadway which supported by5m width of coal pillar and feedback the rationality of the coal pillar width.The research result can provide the reference both in theory and in the rationality of preserve section of9-10coal mine in Linfen, Shanxi Province.
