As the tool production technology, drive control technology and computer technologysuch as technology advances, high speed machining and high efficiency has been obtained inthe process of manufacturing large number of use and implementation, especially in hardmaterials processing and die and mould industry. Compared with edm, High speed millingtechnology is significantly improved in the machining speed, precision, machining process onthe simplified, it has a tendency to gradually replace the edm. The author’s unit of the mainproduction of small XK712vertical CNC milling machine, the machine is small in size, lightquality (about1ton), but influenced by the structure, it cannot for high speed machining(maximum spindle speed of3000rpm), and it is difficult to adapt to the requirements ofhigh-speed and efficient processing.Basis on XK712small vertical CNC milling machine, redesign it, develop the compactstructure, cover an XK7125small high speed vertical CNC milling machine of an area small,low consumption. Paper main research content includes: To carry on the overall design of themachine tool, determine the main technical index of machine tools, according to the index ofexisting small vertical CNC milling machine structure design, determine the basic structure;Design the mechanical system, determine the selection of the high-speed spindle, andmachine tool cutting load determined according to the scope of the machine tool forprocessing the transmission part of the structure of mechanical system, to design suitable forthe frame structure of the transmission system, final design the additional components of theframe structure; Analysis of mechanical system of machine tool, using the FEA technology,combined with practice the stress of the machine tool, static analysis was carried out on thecross slide machine tool and module analysis, judgment according to the results of theanalysis of the related features of machine mechanical system;Layout of the machine toolelectrical system, according to the mechanical structure and technical indicators, to determinethe electrical hardware such as the machine tool selection of CNC device, driving system,PLC device, layout of devices and components at the same time, the realization of digitalcontrol of machine tools; To debug and test the machine, according to different materials, theperformance test was carried out on the machine tool, by adjusting the system parameters,optimization of the whole machine performance.Paper main achievements is completed XK7125design of mechanical system and layoutelectrical system, under the premise that the less the weight, the main shaft of up to12000r/min, three axis feed up to18000mm/min, and it can heavy cutting, stable operation, achieve a small volume of machine tool, the performance of the big machine.
