The Innovative Application Of "Tea Dyeing" In Silk Dress Design

With the gradual deterioration of the global environment, the problem of energy shortage isbecoming much more prominent, and the topic of "Sustainable Design" has attracted more andmore attentions. At the same time, after the years’ study of western culture, heritage datingproblems of traditional culture is highly valued by Chinese people now. The research of "TeaDyeing" not only can be helpful to diversify the development of "Sustainable Design", but alsocan inherit the Chinese traditional culture in an innovative way.First of all, the paper analyzes3values about "Tea Dyeing", namely: the cultural value, theaesthetic value and the application value, in order to give evidence of the importance andsignificance of "Tea Dyeing". Secondly, a series of experiments have been designed and impliedon the basis of previous research, and a lot of effective fabric samples have been obtained.Thirdly, the experimental data has been recorded and analyzed and basic skills, regular pattern of"Tea Dyeing" have been summed up as well. Fourthly, the color, the pattern, the texture and thestructural design have been discussed and used to create three garments of "Tea Dyeing" clothing.Finally, the author analyzes the restraining factors in the development of "Tea Dyeing", and putsforward the solutions.The heritage of traditional cultural should not just be a slogan; the revival of traditionalculture should not just be a wonderful picture. I hope this paper can provide a feasibledevelopment direction for the recovery of Chinese traditional culture, and also can provide somepracticable thinking for the development of garment design.
