In view of the urgent environmental issues, the detection ofmicropollutants in drinking water is one of the most challenging subjects. As outstanding adsorption capacity and electrical conduction ability, nanocarbon materials have incomparable advantage over conventionalmaterials. Armed with electrochemical method which is highly sensitive,it is promising for nano carbon materials to solve the practical problems. With nano carbon materials as the main topic, we designed and thensynthesized effective functional nano carbon materials for adsorption, andapplied them to the electrochemical detection of pollutants in water.Besides of this, we explored the relationship between adsorption behaviorand the electrochemical behavior. The main contents include:1. We synthetized O2-plasma-treated multi-walled carbon nanotubes(po-MWCNTs) and NH3-plasma-treated multi-walled carbon nanotubes(pn-MWCNTs). The corresponding two kinds of modified electrodeswere made and used for electrochemical detection of nitroaromaticcompounds. The difference between them in electrochemical responsewas systematically compared. The possible mechanisms based onadsorption have been proposed. We also focused on the relationshipbetween adsorption behavior and the electrochemical behavior.2. Pn-MWCNTs modified glassy carbon electrode was used forsimultaneous detection and selectivity detection for ultra trace zinc, cadmium, copper, mercury in drinking water. The interference of themand the detection mechanism were also studied.3. The polypyrrole/carbonaceous nanospheres(PPy-CNSs) modifiedscreen printing electrode takes the advantage of PPy and CNSs inelectrochemical detection of heavy metal ions, so it is realizable forselective detectionof Pb (II) and Hg (II).4. On the basis of the the relationship between adsorption behaviorand the electrochemical detection, we using stripping current to reflectthe adsorption behavior. It’s also the evidence to confirm the relevancebetween adsorption behavior and the electrochemical behavior.
