Miscanthus floridulus is a gramineous class of non-woody plant resources, which is characterizedby widely distributed, fast growing, high biomass, and very strong regeneration capacity. Looking foralternatives is necessary due to shortage of forest resources and wood raw material supplies in ourcountry. From the current research and application practice perspective, production of man-made boardsusing wheat straw, rice straw, cotton stalk, hemp stalk as raw materials have achieved successfulexperience. Therefore, manufacturing Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber is an effective wayto solve the shortage of wood resources. Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber is a new type ofartificial boards, this paper mainly studies hot-pressing process parameters under different adhesives, and determines the best hot-pressing process conditions. Influence factors and law of Miscanthusfloridulus stalks laminated timber was investigated and found. The results of this study are as follows:1. The influence of crushing on Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber performanceThe performance of MOE, MOR, IB of Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber withcrushing are higher than those without crushing. And the value of24hTS of Miscanthus floridulus stalkslaminated timber with crushing is lower than those without crushing. It can be concluded that crushingon Miscanthus floridulus stalks can improve physical and mechanical properties of boards.2. Bonding technology of Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber using isocyanate adhesive(1) Process of Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber using isocyanate adhesive is feasible, which can press Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber with good physical and mechanicalproperties.(2) The study of influence factors of hot-pressing temperature, hot-pressing time, board density andglue consumption on Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber performance. After analysis, thebest bonding process conditions for Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber withthickness(12mm): hot pressing temperature:160℃, hot pressing time:9min, board density:700Kg·m-3,glue consumption:5%.3. Bonding technology of Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber using urea-formaldehyderesin adhesive(1) Process of Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber using urea-formaldehyde resinadhesive is feasible, which can press Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber with good physicaland mechanical properties.(2) The study of influence factors of hot-pressing temperature, hot-pressing time and glueconsumption on Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber performance. After analysis, hot-pressingtemperature has very distinct effect on24hTS; hot-pressing time has very distinct effect on MOE andMOR; hot-pressing time has distinct effect on IB. The best bonding process conditions for Miscanthusfloridulus stalks laminated timber with thickness(12mm): hot pressing temperature:150℃, hot pressingtime:9min, glue consumption:10%.4. Bonding technology of Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber using phenolic resin adhesive(1) Process of Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber using phenolic resin adhesive isfeasible, which can press Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber with good physical andmechanical properties.(2) The study of influence factors of Impregnation Concentration, Impregnation time, Hot-pressingTemperature and Hot-pressing Time on Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber performance. After analysis, Impregnation Concentration has very distinct effect on IB, hot-pressing time has verydistinct effect on24hTS. The best bonding process conditions for Miscanthus floridulus stalkslaminated timber with thickness(12mm): Impregnation Concentration:7%, Impregnation time:7min,Hot-pressing Temperature:170and Hot-pressing Time:7min.5. Fire resistance of Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber treated by diammonium hydrogenphosphate(1) Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timber treated by DAP has significant flame retardanteffect.(2) The flame retardant performance difference of Miscanthus floridulus stalks laminated timberwith6%and8%DAP respectively are not obvious. Therefore, in order to reduce the production cost, the appropriate option is6%DAP.
