As the continuous casting-rolling process being continuously produced and the follow-up production capacity constantly improves, continuous casting need to cooperate with continuous rolling production in a high speed,this requires dynamically adjust the width of mould narrow side according to the request of continuous rolling slab width in the process of continuous casting.However, current online variable width mould system has the defects of slow mould width adjustment speed, unreasonable movement trajectory and not giving full consideration to the air gap of the shell and the narrow side copper etc, which generates slab cutting loss increases, casting defects and even produces steel leakage accidents. So studying a practical, high speed, high quality casting slab online variable width mould system has important significance. This thesis takes Baosteel2#continuous casting online variable width mould system as the research object, researching the width adjustment process parameters setting calculation and its movement trajectory. This thesis discovers the deficiency among them. It provides the foundation for further study.The thesis analyzes what the principles of the process of online variable width mould shall follow in detail. The process of variable width mould parameters setting data calculating model are established according to the matching relationship of shell shrinkage and strain rate and pouring steel quantities conservation principles etc. Setting data calculating model is the foundation of the online variable width mould control system model. It determines the process of variable width mould rationality and efficiency. In addition, the thesis discuss the mould narrow side copper movement trajectory in-depth, comparing the current popular movement trajectory, summarizing that variable speed and variable taper movement trajectory is more reasonable and efficient. However,2#has the restrict of once width adjustment mount. The thesis put forward the large and small range width adjustment movement trajectory and established mould width adjustment speed curve algorithm on this foundation. In order to make operators able to fully know the changing process of parameters in the width adjustment process before the operation. Online variable width mould adjustment speed curve presetting simulation system is developed. The system can not only calculate the key parameters and adjusting steps in the process of width adjustment steps, but also the process of width adjustment can be presented to the operator in the form of curve. The operator can see the width adjustment process intuitively. And then determines whether the width adjustment steps meet the requirements of width adjustment production technology and equipment under the current width adjustment process parameters. This simulation system also can save all the parameters in the process of width adjustment changing in the database at one second intervals as analysis and research by technological personnel.At the end of this thesis, more reasonable and efficient width adjustment speed setting model was set up, the width adjustment speed setting model is proposed based on mechanism and GA-BP neural network hybrid model on the basis of the width adjustment speed setting mechanism model. At the same time, considering the adjusting speed shall impact the shrinkage rate, it needs to compare the width adjustment speed setting value with the biggest width adjustment speed in order to ensure the with adjustment speed setting value in the reasonable range. We find that this model and the width adjustment speed setting model of2#continuous caster are matched through gathering Baosteel field data and the final simulation results. This model can be used as the field production. It provides the model foundation in general renovation of2#continuous casting machine.
