Polyaniline/Manganese dioxide composites were successfully obtained on the Au line treated by4-ATP in situ chemical oxidation, using KMnO4as the oxidant. The PANI/MnO2composites were characterized by SEM, FT-IR and XRD, and the capacitance performance was studied by cyclic voltammetry and chronopotentiometry. The SEM results show that the composites were nano-particle (200nm diameter) with a trend to be rod. The characteristic absorption peaks of polyaniline and manganese dioxide were observed in FT-IR spectrum. XRD analysis results show that polyaniline and manganese dioxide were amorphous. The results of cyclic voltammetry and chronopotentiometry of PANI/MnO2composites indicated that the composites were with fine capacitance performance, and the single electrode specific capacitance was up to341F/g.The single-factor test was conducted to investigate the influence of concentrations of aniline,4-ATP concentrations, pH values, the ratios of aniline to HC1, the ratios of aniline to KMnO4and the reaction time to capacitance performance of composites. The results show that composites show fine capacitance performance under following condition:the concentration of aniline was0.15M, pH value was4, the concentration of4-ATP was1mM, the ratio of aniline to HC1was1:1, the ratio of aniline to KMnO4was1:1and the reaction time was10h. The single electrode specific capacitance was up to324F/g.Orthogonal experiment was performed with L18(36) orthogonal table. It was confirmed that concentration of4-ATP is of great influence on the capacitance performance of composites, according to the analysis of variance of orthogonal design experiments. And the optimal solution was choosed to conduct three parallel experiments, the capacitance performance of composite was fine, the single electrode specific capacitance was up to341F/g.
