Plate Straightener has become essential equipment, which plays a very important role in quality control of the plate in the iron and steel industry. Limited by mechanical transmission mode and driven by worm gear and worm, traditional Plate Straightener cannot avoid some defects, such as small straightening force, slow pressing speed, and low control accuracy. On the contrary, hydraulic straightening machine Roll Gap Control system uses hydraulic device, digital control,so it has much higher precision of the position control, bigger straightening force, faster response speed. Therefore it’s of great significance to do a research about the whole hydraulic straightening machine control system’s hydraulic pressing.This object of study is Nine-roller Plate Straightener, which transform the original mechanical Straightener into hydraulic straightening machine control system’s hydraulic pressing. The paper firstly introduces straightening technology and straightening machines and its development at home and abroad. Then it introduces the principle and mechanical structure of straightening machine. And hydraulic system diagram is design on the basis of the straightening machine function, component selection and parameter calculation is done at the same time. After the static design, hydraulic system is modeled and simulation by use of the method of transmission function and blocks diagram and MATLAB software.Finally using the MATLAB/Simulink blocks to build a PID controller, the mathematical model of straightening machine hydraulic system is simulated and analyzed, and from the results analysis found that the limitations of the conventional PID control, so we introduce the fuzzy PID controller and the BP neural network PID controller to improve the dynamic characteristics of the system. From the comparison of simulation results, the two intelligent controllers both can improve the system’s rapid response and high stability, and the model optimize was also realized.
