Classic for AKD emlusion uses cationic starch as an emulsifier and stabilizer. The disadvantage of this process is there is lower active ingredient retention in the paper fiber. Only use together with a high charge density of cationic starch or cationic polymer, can improve the retention, thereof reduce the dosage of AKD and increase production efficiency. In order to solve above questions, meanwhile use current equipment as much as possible, reduce the modification cost because of process changing, use Polyamine to instead cationic starch, to improve the charge density and the retention rate of AKD emlusion. With lots of testing, we found the best process condition are:under65±2℃,mix polyamine,1.5dispersants(from R company) and melted AKD wax, adjust pH with40%acetic acid, homogenize with180-200bar, then cooling down to25℃as soon as possible, then adjust solid content by water.Compare with current products, the performance of what we did, has higher curing speed, less dosage, good price and also can be used in high temperature.
