With the rapid development of industry, the demands of mechanical properties of theproduct become higher and higher. with excellent mechanical properties of mechanicalmaterials also become more and more. But, mechanical processing properties of thesematerials is poor. This is hard-to-cut material.Spot facing machining is the most important machining processes, and also one of themost difficult. Deep hole machining process is one of the most difficult process. Therefore, dill deep hole in hard-to-cut material is more difficult. Gundrill is one kind of deep holemachining tool, accuracy of finishing is higher, tool life is longer and time of and time ofprocessing is shorter. at present, gundrill has been widely used.Copper alloys have excellent ductility and toughness, chips is difficult to break whendrilling. It is a typical hard-to-cut material to drill deep hole. Types of copper alloy is andhardness is very different. Interiorly, there are no applicable processing parameters for drillingcopper alloy. This article is used gun drill on the different hardness of copper alloys for deep-holedrilling tests on chip analysis and summary, a relatively reasonable processing parameters;through the gun drill geometry improvements, improve processing efficiency, optimize thegun drill geometry. This paper also difficult to process materials and guns on the mathem-atical model of drilling also have been described. In this article, gundrill is used to drill deep holes in different hardness of copper alloys.Through analysis and summary of chip to get applicable processing parameters; by improvingthe gundrill, improve the processing efficiency and optimize the gun drill geometry. Thisarticle also descibe the hard-to-cut material and mathematical model of gundrill.
