Phthalic acid esters are principally used as nonreactive plasticizers in vinyl plastics and in a broad range of industrial and consumer products to increace the flexibility of plastic polymers.. Among the Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), due to its low cost, is mainly used in PVC production. Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and diethyl phthalate (DEP) are extensively used in personal care products, The widespread use of PAEs in household and industrial products leads to their ubiquity in the environment. Phthalate esters(PAEs) are a class of endocrine disrupting chemicals that can cause reproductive and developmental system, thence impact on human health. A major source of human exposure to phthalates is diet. Therefore, fast determination of PAEs in food is necessary to protect human health. Up to now, the common method are time-consuming, require large volume of toxic organic solvents, and operation is complicated. The biggest problem of common method is, PAEs are widely used in various applications and products, so can bring to high method blank value for PAEs analysis. To overcome these shortcomings, our laboratory developed a "gas purge microsyringe extraction"(GP-MSE) which established a new analytical method for PAEs analysis, and applied to the food sample. All the re-extraction, clean up, concentration, quantitative process were occurred in a100μL microsyringe, compared with the common method, this method is much faster and simpler, greatly reducing the amount of organic solvent and sample, and then the method blank value is very low. In this study, GP-MSE conditions according to the results of previous research settings. This method, added average recovery was66.86%-90.51%, relative standard deviation was less than10.80%, and the method blank value is significantly less than common method. After, we application of this method for measuring PAEs in the food samples, a wildly variety of phthalate concentrations was found during the different groups. DEHP and DnBP were found to have higher concentration in every group.
