With extensive mining and use of petroleum, oil transportation security hasbecome more the focus of attention. Leakage of oil in the transport, will not onlycause a waste of energy,but also will cause great damage to the environment.Therefore, the assessment of the life of the oil pipeline and defect detection isclosely related with the security of the oil pipeline. The use and development ofsimple, accurate detection method is imminent.Ultrasonic detection is a fast detection, easy to operate, automate, ultrasonicnondestructive testing has become a widely used, the TOFD (Time of flightdiffraction) is a new type of ultrasonic nondestructive testing technology.Because of its easy to operation, the test results are accurate, easy to implementdigital, etc. Therefore, in industrial inspection to obtain a wide range ofapplications.In this article will use TOFD in the detection of the oil pipeline, in thisarticle, first change the curvature of the sound field simulation, consider theconcave and convex, respectively. Determine reasonable parameters, such asprobe size, probe spacing parameters.Through the design of an artificial defect simulation oil pipeline the pipebody and weld defects. By selecting a reasonable test parameters, and displaymode, the artificial defect detection, and for detection, the noise generated by theimage optimization process, making observation more intuitive. And a specialdefect repeated testing, to find TOFD testing technology in the lack of specialdefect. Obtained by the comparison of experimental results and the actualsituation TOFD testing technology superiority.
