| With development of people’s living standards and aesthetic, waterborne matt coatingshas been attracted more and more attentions due to its film possesses elegant and beautifulappearance. Present water-based matt paint has some disadvantages including matting agentseasy to agglomeration, coating storage and gloss stability are not so good. In view these, thispaper studied the matte factors of waterborne polyurethane coatings and to obtain conclusionsas following:The effect of matting agent contents and adding ways on the matte properties of thesingle-component waterborne wood coatings were studied, and found that the matteperformance is best for TS100by direct addition method for one-component water-basedcoatings, while the coating prepared from surface-treated OK607display the best storagestability and the gloss stability of its film change smaller than that of TS100and3260.The effect of matting agents categories, hydroxyl resins, hydrophilic modified isocyanatecategories and NCO/OH molar ratios on the matte performance of the two-componentwaterborne coatings were investigated. It was found that OK607is a good amatting agentsuitable for2K-WPU due to its small average particle sizes.2K-WPU coatings displayexcellent matte properties and low cost with PAE (AC2598) as a hydroxy resin, XD803as thecuring agents, and1.2of the molar ratio of NCO and OH groups.Film properties with50%gloss were studied and found that pot-life of2K-WPU wasabout3h determined by the gloss variation, within3h the basic physical properties of the2K-WPU film did not change significantly;2K-WPU coatings have good viscosity stabilityand a longer pot life with DPnB as a coalescent; The mixing times of curing agent andhydroxyl were too longer to reduce the pot-life of2K-WPU and optimal mixing time is5-10minutes. |
