| Dry grinding is often applied to the traditional shovel teeth grinding.For the higher load,higher speed and higher temperature in grinding,burn and wear often occurs in the tool machining process, which lead to the lower quality and life of the tool. On the other hand, the application of grinding fluid also can hurt the people’s bodies and cause environmental pollution. So,the application of cooling-air in shovel teeth grinding has important significance.The paper apply the cooling-air to the shovel teeth grinding process and the processing technology was summarized. Surface color discriminance and metallographic analysis were adopted to discriminate grinding burn degree. X-ray method was adopted to measure the residual stress of the tool surface and Turning45steel method was adopted to measure the tool life.The cooling-air technology is applied to the traditional shovel teeth grinding, The experimental results show that:The cooling-air can lighter grinding burn, the change thickness of the tool surface micro structure in dry grinding is1to5times of cooling-air grinding; The cooling-air can reduce the thermoplastic deformation of the tool, improve the residual stress of the tool surface. The cooling-air can improve the tool life, the wear time of the tool in cooling-air grinding is1to6.3times of dry grinding. Higher production and application value can reach employing with cooling-air grinding. |
