Dy3+single-doped and Dy3+/Yb3+co-doped oxyfluoride glasses have been prepared bythe high-temperature solid phase sintering method. The concentrations of Dy203single-dopedsamples are0.1,0.3,0.5,0.7,0.9mol%, and the concentration ratios of Dy2O3:Yb2O3forco-doped samples are0.1:2,0.3:2,0.5:2,0.7:2,0.9:2mol%. Using the SEM observe thestructure of samples. The down-conversion photoluminescence spectra are measured at room temperatureunder the388nm excitation. The blue(482nm) and green(575nm) light of Dy3+single-dopedoxyfluoride glasses samples are stronger than the Dy3+/Yb3+co-doped oxyfluoride glasses, butthe red(695nm) light of Dy3+single-doped oxyfluoride glasses are weaker than the co-dopedsamples. The photoluminescence characteristics were explained by the energy level diagram. The CIE1931chromaticty coordinate, the correlated color temperature and the blackbodyline shows all samples are belong to the range of white light, the luminescence of Dy3+/Yb3+co-doped glasses is closer to the standard purity color. The up-conversion photoluminescence spectra of Dy3+single-doped and Dy3+/Yb3+co-doped oxyfluoride glasses are measured under the980nm excitation. The luminescenceintensity of samples are weaker than the co-doped samples, that’s because the Yb3+ions as asensitizer. The strongest intensity is0.3Dy3+/2Yb3+samples. The Yb3+ion’s involve, theemission intensity of up-conversion and down-conversion (red light) become strong.
