The bag filter has been widely used recently for its advantages such as being simple tooperate, high collect efficiency, operational stability and adaptability. However, the resistance ofthe bag filter could be more than1800Pa, which is the highest energy consumption among alldust-collection equipments except venture scrubber. The outline of the Eleventh Five-Year Planof China clearly states the plan of energy saving and emission reduction, which will substantiallyimprove the standards of equipment energy consumption and emission. Thus the research on thebag filter energy consumption characteristics and the evaluation methods of product prototypesenergy cost consumption test are of great significance for energy-saving and cost-reducing.The physical prototype tests have weaknesses of high testing cost, difficulty to achieve andlong period. Digital test technology is able to break through the limitations of traditional physicalprototype tests and realize the transformation from product characteristic test to virtual prototypeintegrated design.The digital test technology and its applications of bag filter energy consumptioncharacteristics have been deeply studied by analyzing the domestic and international researchmethods. The main content of this research includes the following parts:(1) Theoretical approaches of bag filter energy consumption testing are analysed, whichinclude the working principle of bag filter, energy consumption mechanism and characteristic ofbag filter, and energy consumption testing method of bag filter.(2) In this paper, the key technologies for realizing virtual prototype digital test are studied.They are virtual prototype technology, numerical simulation technology, virtual instrumenttechnology and database technology,etc.(3) The test system of bag filter energy consumption performance is developed in whichusers can build bag filter models according to practical needs. Then the numerical simulation canbe completed, in which simulation data is collected, processed and displayed. After that thesystem will evaluate the energy consumption characteristic of the bag filter. Research results and practical applications show that: this energy testing method integratestest into the construction process of virtual prototypes and can shorten development cycles,reduce the production cost and operation consumption, provide a new aspect for product researchand development.
