Automatic welding workstation is the focus of research in the field of welding. Many effortshave been made on research directions like fixture design, research in the distribution, controltechnique, etc. In this paper, a new kind of automatic welding workstation which can adapt varisizedwelding work piece by adopting a new kind of welding fixture is developed. This workstation isdesigned to solve the automatic welding requirements of Al-alloy welding pieces in different size.Firstly, in this paper, the functional requirements of workstation, which include fixture module,execution module, robot mobile platform, and security&protect module, are determined. The layoutand the skeleton of workstation are determined based on above functional module.The key component of workstation, robot mobile platform, is deeply studied on follow aspects:the affection from installation towards basement stress, the rational assembly based on design speed.The key part of robot mobile platform, ball screw, is selected and checked, the assembly type of ballscrew is studied.A common kind of work piece is summarized; its mathematical model is established andanalyzed to figure out the relationship between fixture key points and size verification. A new kind ofadjustable fixture is proposed based on former analysis to adjust the kind of work piece mentionedabove.Finally, based on the3D design model of workstation, established the entity of workstation.Based on the welding characteristics of Al-alloy structural welding pieces, the operation parametersare figured out and checked using parameter control method. |
