Hard and brittle materials are difficult-to-cut materials for its high hardness, brittleness,good insulation and high temperature resistance. Circular saw blade(CSB) is laminar cuttingtool. Its thickness to diameter ratio is very small and it works under high rotation speed. CSB isthe main tool in stone processing industry because of its high machining efficiency, goodquality and so on. Now, the research on cutting brittle materials of CSB is relatively little. It isnot perfect yet on the stress and strain nephogram, damping noise reduction as well as thecutting simulation in the actual working conditions. Up to now, little study is carried out onCSB simulation of diamond particle cutting, it is less on the method of finite element numericalsimulation. Most of the researches focus on the condition of the diamond particles based onhypothesis methods.The main contents are as follows:1. Deep studies on algorithms which are used in the process of CSB cutting brittlematerials (such as rocks) and related to finite element software. The main theories are: rockimpact crushing, stress wave, the finite element, the3D algorithm base of finite elementsoftware, the contact algorithm, in the process of penetration, rock damage mechanism,penetration theory, etc.2. Using the LS-DYNA finite element analysis software based on above mature theories,the simulation analysis is carried out from the point of microscopic process of single particlediamond cutting rocks referring to CSB cutting brittle materials. Then a dynamic simulationmodel of the rock crushing particle splash is obtained while single particle diamond cuttingrock works. The force condition of rock crushing is also gained. Conclusions can be made thatthe stress of the diamond is far greater than the yield strength of the rock while crushing. Theresults are helpful for improving the cutting process.3. Based on above researches on the single particle diamond cutting rocks, and thesimulation analysis on CSB cutting rock brittleness material process is carried out. Thedifferences of stress strain nephogram are analyzed between the slotted CSB and un-slottedones. Then, the results can be deduced that the slotted CSB has significant effect on reducingthe vibration and noise. The rock saw road and cutting quality are also studied. The rock crushing stress nephogram are depicted as well as the force conditions of rock crushing. It isvery important for improving the cutting process.By simulation analysis on the process cutting rock brittle materials of CSB, the stress andstrain nephogram is received. It is fully verified that slotting CSB has good effects on vibrationand noise reduction. The data of the force diagram is under the actual conditions, providinggreat reference not only to the CSB on the improvement of structure and cutting efficiency, butalso to the cutting quality.
