Polymeric ionic liquids are the polymer which is polymerized by ionic liquidmonomers. As novel polymer electrolyte, polymeric ionic liquids are prepared bycomplementation of merits and demerits of ionic liquids and polymer electrolyte.Polymeric ionic liquids has inherited some properties of ionic liquids, such as nonvolatile,nonflammable, slightly toxicity, good chemical stability, and wider electrochemicalwindow, and also inherited many advantages of polymer electrolytes, includinglightweight, leak proof, no environment hazards, simple structure, safe and reliable, etc.Such inherit characteristics have received great attention from the scientists, and, it isconsidered to be new material to replace liquid electrolyte, resolve the safety problem ofionic liquid electrolytes and low electrical conductivity of conventional polymerselectrolytes.In this thesis, a dozen kinds of novel ionic liquids consisting of different numberether bonds were designed and synthesized, and, with investigation of such ionic liquids asthe raw material, we had prepared two kinds of polymeric ionic liquids, which were thepolyanionic ionic liquids and polycationic ionic liquids respectively. The chemicalstructures of ionic liquids were confirmed by1HNMR,19FNMR, and IR. And, the physicalproperties and electrochemical properties of such ionic liquids was characterized anddiscussed. Then, the paper emphatically discussed properties of polymeric ionic liquidswhich has multiple ether bonds structure and mixed with different concentration lithiumsalts (electrical conductivity, glass temperature, the transference number of lithium ion,etc). All polymeric ionic liquids in this thesis, the polycationic ionic liquids of multipleether bonds was characterized by low glass transition temperature(-47oC)and high ionicconductivity (when25oC, the high ionic conductivity is5.68×105S/cm). In addition, theresult of the thermal stability analysis indicated that the thermal-decompositiontemperature of polymeric ionic liquids of the multiple ether bonds could also remainaround280oC. The poly ionic liquids prepared by our work have the superior performances,making polymeric ionic liquids to reflect good application future in new electrolyte materials. Besides, the introduction of polyether bonds and branched polyether bond alsoprovide an idea to reduce the glass transition temperature and raise the conductivity.
