From the aspect of reactor to analyse the continuous flow reactor, it owes theadvantage of ability to deal with large capacity wastewater, high efficiency ofpurification and good performance of removing the nitrogen and phosphorus fromwastewater. The weakness of the reactor is unstableness and subject to the quality ofwastewater, and the bad efficiency of dealing with the low concentration wastewater. Interms of the intermittent flow reactor, it can conquer the effect of influent volatility viacontrolling the time to get the good quality of outflow water. The advantage ofintermittent flow batch reactor is good anti-load capacity and small occupation area.The bad sides is that the whole reaction containing digestion, anti-digestion andsolid-liquid separation occur in a pond leading to the bad efficiency as well as the poorrate of capacity utilization.MSBR process is a combination of continuous plug-flow reactor and intermittentcompletely mixed reactor, it utlizes subtly the performance of continuous andsequencing flow. In this way, the reactor can not only flow continuously in and out, butalso adjust the system of anoxic and aerobic condition according to the water quality.But, the reactor has its own shortcoming.In this paper through the data from MSBR process of the sewage treatment plant inthe north city, the performance of the system and the advantage and disadvantage of thereactor would be analysed, then the existing problems in practical engineering can beresolved. The deficiencies of system can be adjusted or optimized in order to promotethe MSBR process in the practical application. Choosing sewage treatment plant in north city is because the huge change in water quality, the poor stability of the influent,variable temperature, higher load on the sewage plant and the requirement of strongresistance in load capacity in the north region. From the data concerning the MSBRprocess, conclusion can be got as follows:(1)MSBR can guarantee continuous water flow, strong anti-load capacity, stableeffluent water and high degreed of intensification.(2) The efficiency of MSBR system concerning denitrification in thedenitrification process is too low. The measure can be used: a. changing the influentposition, b. enhancing anaerobic stir in the SBR part, c. changing the return path.(3)Through the research of MSBR process considering the influent water quality,the flexibility of the SBR segment can be strengthened to degrade the pollutantsdifficult to remove, but the high degree of automation of the system is required.
