Electrochromism refers to the phenomenon that some material could changeits color in external electric field. Polyaniline(PANI) has become the broadestapplication of organic electrochromism material due to its popular price, excellentoptical properties, and short response time. In this work, PANI films doped withcamphorsulfonic acid was prepared by electropolymerization. Finally, PANI filmsprepared with the optimized process was assembled into devices. The parameters of electropolymerization of doping PANI with hydrochloricacid and camphorsulfonic acid in different comonomers molar ratio weredetermined by cyclic voltammetry(CV),the films’ sizes were10x30mm, thicknesswere10microns. The result of SEM, FT-IR, and XRD indicated respectively thatfilms’ density increases with the increase of acid in the PANI monomer, camphorsulfonic acid was doped into PANI successfully, the crystallization propertygets better after doping camphorsulfonic acid, and the thermostability of PANI filmsdoped with camphorsulfonic acid performs better before300℃. It is found that thetransmittance variation and cycling stability both perform well when theconcentration of camphorsulfonic acid was2:1.Potentiostatic method and galvanostatic method were applied to preparePANI films. Transmittance variation increased after decreasing with the increase ofpolymerization potential in the potentiostatic method, and the maximum appears at0.75V. While, the transmittance variation decreases with the increase ofpolymerization current, and the maximum appears at3mA. The response time haveno significant difference in the two methods.Take the PANI films doped with camphorsulfonic acid prepared at thepolymerization potential of0.75V as one electrode, and PEDOT/PSS films asanother electrode, on which PMMA/PC/LiClO4is used as gel electrolyte toassemble into a electrochromic device. The device’s color changed obvious, and thetransmittance variaty and cycling stability was very well.
