The fast growing, propagation and other characteristics of bamboo, make it as anefficient biomass material to mitigate the shortage of wood resources in China, and improvethe ecological environment. Meanwhile bamboo furniture, flooring and other products, havenatural grain, giving people a kind of simple and classic feeling, and more and more peoplebegin to like it. Bamboo used to cracking when it is applied, reducing its service life greatly,and resulting in a waste of bamboo resources. Adhesive quality is a major cause of influencingcracking of bamboo. So studying on good performance of melamine resin is to reduce crack ofbamboo, which has significant economic value and environmental significance.In our research, through the measurement of storage stability of MF resin, the surfacecrack width and the contact angle of variety bamboo boards,a better synthesis technology andformula of MF resin was explored. Through Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer of KBrTablet method to analyze the function of modifier in synthesis of MF resin. Use the Image-proPlus Software to analyze the surface crack of flattened bamboo, to improve the accuracy andefficiency of our research.Research shows that:1.When the reaction temperature is80℃and pH value is8.5, viscosity of MF resin isminimum, and storage stability is best.2.Using F/M mole ratio (A), ethylene glycol with formaldehyde mole ratio (B) andthe additon of acrylamide (C) as factors,to carry out three factors, four levels L16(45)orthogonal test. Through test the resin storage stability, the contact angle and crack width ofreconstituted bamboo, A2B3C3is the best test combination, that when F/M mole ratio is2.5:1, ethylene glycol with formaldehyde mole ratio is1:1, acrylamide addition is6%of resinweight, the performance of the MF resin is best, could significantly reduce the surface crackof reconstituted bamboo with its impregnation. 3.According to the contact angle of single layer flattened bamboo, B4C4A2is the best testcombination. According to contact angle of the three layers flattened bamboo,B3C4(2)A2is thebest test combination.4.FTIR showed that characteristics absorption peaks of ether bond and amide obviouslyenhanced, evidencing that ethylene glycol and acrylamide successfully participate in thesynthesis of the MF resin.5.The photos of bamboo were analyzed by Image-pro plus software,clearly getting thelength, breadth, number and size of the cracks, so the measurement speed was significantiyimproved.
