Polymeric materials are applied widely due to their excellent Properties. Polyethylene is therepresentative of organic film materials, it is widely used for their low cost, good thermalstability, stable chemical property and low coefficient of friction, but its bad surface hydrophilyrestricted its applications in environmental purification, medicine health, agricultural production,outdoor protection and food packaging. All in all, it is significant to improve surface hydrophilicproperty of PE films.The nano-SiO2thin film is a kind of environment-friendly material with good mechanicaland thermal properties, the preparation of hydrophilic SiO2thin films applied on kinds ofsubstrates is the trend of industrial application.Low-temperature plasma induced graft polymerization method without anyinitiator. Produce a large number of active surface on polymer materials with thelow-temperature plasma technology, and then process surface graft polymerization of monomerto modified polymer surface and thus to expand its application and improve its performance. onedistinctive feature of Plasma induced graft polymerization is to significantly change the surfaceproperties of materials, and at the same time, the surface does not change the natureof decay over time.In this paper, hydrophilic polyethylene films and hydrophilic SiO2films were prepared viadiffer treatments. The main contents and results are organized as follows:The nanometer SiO2sol was prepared by the sol-gel method and combining withdip-coating method to produce nanometer SiO2film. The hydrophilicity and Surface morphologywere also investigated. In the paper, SiO2sol was prepared under ammonia-ethanol-H2O system,and the influence factor of its particle size and was investigated, such as the content of ammonia,and TEOS, etc. Then the different particle size of SiO2sol was used to prepare nanometer SiO2film and their performances were examined, in order to obtain the optimum condition.Hydrophilic polyethylene films were prepared by the low-temperature plasma technology.Through this project initiated by Ar/O2and air plasma grafting techniques, the using ofhydrophilic acrylic acid on PE films were surfaced modification to enhance the hydrophilic ofPE films. Monomer through the PE film surface after the contact angle and surface free energy measurements of the low temperature plasma induced grafting factors (discharge power,processing time, gas flowing, gas composition) on the film surface contact angle and the surfacemorphology of impact and the Analyzed and summarized. At the same time, the effect ofdischarge device on hydrophilic modification was examined.
