Pseudoboehmite Lotion is a kind of wastewater generated from the production process of Pseudo boehmite. Up till now, the wasterwater is often discharged directly due to the low awareness of environmental protection. Theoretically, the electro-membrane method can be employed to treat Pseudoboehmite Lotion for meeting the requirements of discharge or reuse. However, the electro-membrane method for treating Pseudoboehmite Lotion is not put into practice in domestic market at present. This mainly results from several aspects, such as the design of treating scenario, the construction of electrodialyzer, operating parameters, and so on. In this work, a specified electrodialyzer was adopted. Compared with some traditional electrodialyzer, some key components in the specified electrodialyzer were pointed improved. During the feasible lab-scale and pilot-scale experiments, some key process parameters, including flow rate, voltage, ratio between the dilute and the concentrate, etc. were investigated in detail. Base on the large quantity of experiments, a set of optimized operating parameters were obtained. The flow rate was set as3.3cm/s. The voltage should not exceed0.8V per pair membranes. The ratio between the dilute and the concentrate should be adjusted between twenty times and thirty times. Research results showed the base content of desalinated water can be smaller than0.3g/L (specified as Na2O), whereas that of concentrated water can reach75g/L (specified as Na2O), which was larger than the customers’requirements,60g/L.
