Polyoxometalates (POMs), a class of nanoclusters with great function and specialcomposition, have an attractive features which is that its metal-oxygen framework canundergo a serious of reversible and stepwise, multielectron-transfer reactions. Thus, most of the POMs have a rich redox properties which makes them suitable for electrodemodification and can be used as electrocatalyst, photocatalyst. In this paper, we made a serious of composite materials with POMs, Agnanoparticles, TiO2nanoparticles and TiO2nanotubes.We used the POMs/Ag nanoparticles modified electrode and the POMs/Ag nanparticles/TiO2nanoparticles materials in electrocatalytic and photocatalytic. The specific contents are as follows:1. We developed an easy way to fabricate heteropolytungstate (P2W18) and Agnanoparticles modified GCE. The resulting modified electrode surface has highstability, electrochemical and electrocatalytic activity. In this paper, chitosan was used toform a chitosan film which can help P2W18/Ag nanoparticles modified electrode byelectrostatic interactions. Using cyclic voltammetry, the electrochemical and electrocatalyticactivities for the electrode were investigated in detail. The results suggest that the presence ofAg NPs in the composite film can enhance the conductivity of the film, which improves itselectrocatalytic activities.2.TiO2nanoparticles were synthesized using the sol-gel method. TiO2nanotubes and(P2W18-Ag) NPs-TiO2nanotube composites were synthesized with P25. Respectively, we used TiO2nanoparticles, TiO2nanotubes and (P2W18-Ag)NPs-TiO2nanotubes to photodegradate methylene blue. The study shows that, comparedto TiO2nanoparticles, TiO2nanotubes and TiO2nanotube composite material have a better photodegradation activity.3. Using TiO2nanoparticles and (P2W18-Ag) NPs-TiO2nanotubes,we studied thephotoreduction of carbondioxide. The results suggest that the presence of Ag NPs canenhance the photoreduction productivity of carbon dioxide.
