Coal mining machine is one of the important coal mining machinery. Cutting department is a part that has the biggest proportion of total power in coal mining machine, so the transmission device of cutting department has higher requirements for strength, stiffness and transmission efficiency. As rocker mechanism mainly undertake transmission and raise, its gear transmission system has more strict requirements.But as there exists some errors in the process of manufacturing installation of rocker gear, and because of the impact of rocker on gear transmission system due to stress and deformation, gears bear large meshing impact and partial load, resulting in a loss of gear transmission performance and carrying capacity, which affecting the work efficiency of the coal mining machine, causing invisible economic loss.In order to reduce the meshing impact of rocker gear, reduce contact stress in the process of gear meshing under the condition of intersecting axis meshing error and staggered shaft meshing error,-and improve the production efficiency of coal mining machine, the rocker gear is modified by drum-type modification, a new method that uses the function of Pro/E assembly interference check to determine the quantity of drum-type modification is proposed, and the functional relationship between error angle and quantity of drum-type modification under the condition of two kinds of meshing error is obtained, and the finite element contact analysis is done by ANSYS under four working conditions, which are without modification and meshing error, without modification with meshing error, with modification without meshing error, with modification and meshing error, through which the rationality of this modification type and the reliability of the functional relationship between error angle and quantity of drum-type modification is verified. Specific work is as follows:(1)Define two kinds of common meshing error of the rocker gear from the view of space:intersecting axis error and the crisscross axis error, and calculate the maximum of error angles according to the center distance error of two gears, axis parallelism error of two gears and deformation of rocker;(2)The error angle is divided into several portions from0°to maximum due to the uncertainty of meshing error, the gear drum-type modification of each error angle is done by using function of Pro/E interference check, and the quantity of drum-type modification is determined, and the functional relationship between error angle and quantity of drum-type modification is obtained by MATLAB under the condition of two kinds of meshing error;(3)In Pro/E, gear assembly respectively under four working conditions which are without modification and meshing error, without modification with the meshing error,with modification without meshing error, with modification and meshing error is done, under the condition of intersecting axis error and the crisscross axis error. A pair of meshing gears is chosen under each working condition, rotating angle of which between being in and out of the meshes is divided into some position averagely. Then the maximum contact stress of meshing surface of each position is calculated.Finite element analysis shows that the contact stress of modified gear has reduced obviously, the rationality of this modification type and the reliability of the functional relationship between error angle and quantity of drum-type modification is verified, which will be of great significance to improve the work efficiency of coal mining machine and the design of gears.
