In recent years,International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) do a lot of research on lightning riskassessment and released the technical report IEC61662on lightning risk assessmentand the standards IEC62305-2on risk management.The paper introduces the damage causes of lightning current and types, as well asdifferent types of damages caused by the division of the type of loss in IEC62305-2. Inthe paper, the composition of the risk and the method of lightning risk assessment isanalyzed in detail.
