In this study, we carried out the reaseach of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the surface sediments, waters and the aquatic animals in the24sampling points along the Qin River, analyzed its composition characteristics and possible sources, and did the ecological risk assessment of the PAHs which in water and sediments. We intented to provide a scientific basis of PAHs pollution prevention and decision management in Qin River. We determined the contents of PAHs in surface sediments of Qin River using high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC), analyzed its composition and sources, which indicated that most sampling sites had the PAHs residues in the surface sediments of Qin River. The conclusions of the total concentrations of PAHs were in the range of231.72~1783.22ng/g, and the average value is729.21ng/g. Compared with other major rivers, the content of PAHs in the surface sediments of Qin River is at the middle level. According to the ERL and ERM value of risk evaluation for ecosystems indicate that the content of PAHs in a small part of the samples along the Qin River have certain negative impact to the ecosystem, but sediments of Qin River pose a low risk to the environment for the whole river. We also determined the contents of PAHs in waters of Qin River by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), analyzed its composition and sources, which indicated that most sampling sites had the a lower content of PAHs residues in the waters of Qin River. The upshots demonstrated that the total concentrations of PAHs were in the range of4.55~69.31ng/L, the average value is32.48ng/L. By the ratio method, we analyzed the sources of PAHs in waters of Qin River, we got the Conclusion is the main reason caused by the burning of coal and other fossil fuels.Compared with other major rivers, the content of PAHs in the waters of Qin River is at the low level. The content of BaP beyond the national surface water quality standard limits, which produced a cancer risk to the surrounding ecosystem and needed to be concerned about. We evaluated the PAHs in the Anodonta woodiana woodiana, the activity of the EROD and GST in the gill and hepatopancreas of Anodonta woodiana woodiana, collected the samples in6Sampling points, which are considered to be the dominant species to the Qin River. The results show that, there is a positive correlation between the content of PAHs in sediments and PAHs content in the body of Anodonta woodiana woodiana, the vitality of EROD, GST. Anodonta woodiana woodiana can be used as indicator organisms of PAHs in Qin River. We founded by measuring the vitality of SOD, CAT, GPx and MDA of the Anodonta woodiana woodiana that PAHs can reflect the mechanism of toxicity to aquatic organisms.
