With the rapid development of electronic information industry, the production ofelectronic waste (also known as e-waste) increases all the time. Approximately70%of global e-waste enters into China through various channels, but also our own largeamounts of e-waste production, Qingyuan, Guangdong has become one of the largeste-waste disposal site. In the e-waste resource utilization process, electronics itselfcontain and improper disposal (open burning) produce large amounts of PBDEs(Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers, referred to PBDEs), PBDEs have environmentalpersistence, bioaccumulation and toxicity, which has caused great concern at homeand abroad.Currently, the researchs of PBDEs focuse on the quantitative detection anddistribution of environmental media, etc. it’s unclear that open burning of electronicwaste disposal ground surrounding organisms and pollution levels of PBDEs pollutioncharacteristics; Meanwhile, as emerging contaminants, the corresponding PBDEsdisposal of contaminated sites is still in the blank stage technology research. In orderto fully understand the pollution levels and characteristics of PBDEs that in theelectronic waste incineration of surrounding organisms, and propose suitable pollutioncontrol technology for China PBDEs. Based on optimization method of the analysisof PBDEs and reseach the organisms surrounding disposed site, the pollutioncharacteristics and bioaccumulation in organisms were reseached in this study, whichprovide a theoretical basis for the scientific management and control pollution ofPBDEs, and for the electronic waste incineration zone PBDEs high pollution, conductco-disposal of cement kiln technology. The main results of this paper are as follows:PBDEs in e-waste incineration to100%of organisms detected; the highestaverage concentration of e-waste incineration is in the ground around the mussel,reaching10298.7ng/g lipid weight, where as people’s daily food fish and chicken, thehighest concentration of PBDEs are up to3579.6ng/g lipid weight and4724.8ng/glipid weight; incineration zone organisms Σ21PBDEs (21polybrominated diphenylether monomer content of) higher than other improper disposal areas and generalareas1to3orders of magnitude, indicating that the electronic waste incineration on local biological activity has caused serious pollution of PBDEs.Different organisms of different pollution characteristics of PBDEs, includingaquatic animals to Deca, nine high-and octa brominated diphenyl ethers based,low-brominated diphenyl ethers are mainly four polybrominated diphenyl ethers, thiscomposition pattern with other results reported in the literature are different, whichmay be related to e-waste incineration ambient medium decabromodiphenyl ether(BDE209) high pollution, whereas BDE209degradation easily generate nine bromineand eight brominated diphenyl ethers, leading to aquatic high-brominated diphenylethers organisms accumulate higher total; terrestrial organisms also Deca, nona-andocta-brominated diphenyl ethers contour-based, but its lower brominated diphenylethers HBB Union diphenyl ether, this composition pattern with other regions withinthe terrestrial objects composed of PBDE pattern similar.Different bioaccumulation of PBDEs in vivo characteristics of different aquaticanimals in vivo polybrominated diphenyl ether monomer between values and theircorresponding BSAFs no significant correlation, PBDEs in vivo only in the presenceof fish and other aquatic biomagnification; Deca terrestrial animals, nona-andocta-brominated diphenyl ethers BMFs high values were greater than1, the lowerbrominated diphenyl ethers BMFs less than1, indicating that only in the terrestrialfood chain brominated diphenyl ethers have high biomagnification.Through disposal technologies of cement kiln treatment of high concentration ofPBDEs contaminated soil, the results showed that: the normal production conditionsin the cement under the conditions of PBDEs in DRE reach99.999%or more, tomeet China’s "hazardous waste incineration pollution control standards" and U.S.technical standards requirements; flue brominated dioxins (hereinafter referred to asPBDD/Fs) toxicity limits when standards were lower than EU regulations; Meanwhile, cement kiln disposal of high concentrations of PBDEs contaminated soil did notadversely product quality cement affected. Indicates that conditions in the cementproduction under stable conditions, were disposed of cement kilns for highconcentrations of PBDEs contaminated soil feasible and safe.
