The resource of mangrove plants in Guangxi Province is extremely abundant. To discover new bioactive natural product, the fresh fruit of Guangxi mangrove plant Avicennia mavina was chemically investigated.Fresh fruit of Avicennia mavina were extracted with EtOH, then fractioned with petroleum ether, EtO Ac and n-BuOH in turn. Forty one compounds were obtained from the EtO Ac-soluble fraction of EtOH extract, including nine Phenylethanoid glycosides:mavinsideA (Q16)、B(Q21)、 C (Q32)、 D (Q24)、 E (Q44)、 F (Q31)、 G (Q25)、Acteoside (Q23)、 calceolarioside A (Q27); three pyridine:2(1H)-Pyrazinone,3,4-dihydro-1,3,5-trimethyl-(Q1)、Uridine (Q29)、Uracil (Q34); seven esters:Methyl (4-chloro-4[N-hydroxyamino]phenyl)acetate (Q2)、 Methyl4-(2-Hydroxyethoxy)benzoate (Q3)、 Diisopropyl phthalic acid (Q8)、 methyl caffeate (Q12)、 Protocatechuic acid methyl ester (Q15)、 Ddi-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (Q33)、 Dibutyl phthalate (Q40); one phenols:(Q14); one ketone:Methyl3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl ketone (Q11); oneiminazole:Miazole (Q26); one Indoles:Indole-3-aldehyde (Q7); one amide:Hydroformami (Q5); one acid:Phydroxybenzoicacid (Q10)The antibacterial activity of all pure compounds were evaluated. Compounds Q16、Q21and Q23showed moderate activities against four species of crop pathogenic bacteria. Compounds Q16could inhibit the growth of Colletotrichum papaya, Didymella bryoniae and Fusarium oxysporumf sp.Melongenae with the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of16μg/mL; Compounds21could inhibit the growth of Colletotrichum papaya and Fusarium oxysporumf sp.Melongenae with the MIC of8μg/mL,16μg/mL respectively; Compounds Q23could inhibit the growth of Phyllostictamusarum with the MIC of16μg/mL.In the first chapter of this paper, the research progress of chemical constituents and bioactivities of true mangrove from2008to2012were summaried.
