Superabsorbent resin was a low crosslinked hydrophilic polymers, it is widespread concerned by people because of superabsorbent resin had character of water absorbency and water retention. Recently superabsorbent resin could be widely used in agriculture, forestry, hygiene, construction and other industries fields. Bagasse, kaolin and acrylic acid as the main raw material could be used to synthesize composite super absorbent resin by water solution polymerization, in this paper. The main contents showed that:1. The water absorbency as indicator, the influences of reaction conditions, such as reaction time, degree of neutralization, reaction temperature, initiator content, kaolin content, crosslinker content and monomer content on super absorbent composite prepared was investigated. Selected five factors could be used to do orthogonal analysis from single factor experiments. Based on the experimental results, when the degree of neutralization was65.0%, APS/AA为1.5%, kaolin/AA was6.0%, MBAM/AAwas0.25%, AA/bagasse was11.0, water absorbency can reach634.5g·g-1.2. Temperature of suction, solvent of suction and repetition times were investigated by experiment, we can see the temperature of suction has little effect on water absorbency of the composite superabsorbent resin and water absorbency in the organic solution is very weak, the composite superabsorbent resin has a good reusability. Analysis of the kinetic experiments, the speed of suction process of composite superabsorbent resin was controlled by relaxation of the polymer chain.3. The water retention rate as indicator, capacity of water retention was investigated. The results showed under natural conditions (temperature was20℃-25℃) and in the thermostatic box (25℃,45℃,65℃or85℃), the composite superabsorbent has good water retention. Under2000r·min-1centrifugal time was0.5h, composite superabsorbent resin still has up to96.1%of water retention rate.The kinetics of water retention were investigated by experiment, the results showed water conservation process of composite superabsorbent resin is zero order reaction, apparent activation energy Ea=4.1716×104J·mol-1, the constant of reaction rate k=1.4969×107e-4.1716U04/RT. This process was an endothermic process, equations of dynamic simulation results conformed very closely to experimental data equation.4. The experimental results of adsorption of composite superabsorbent resin for Cu2+in solution indicated that the adsorption test results had a rapid adsorption rate for Cu2+, and needed25minute to reach the adsorption equilibrium. The unit mass adsorption amount was increased with the increase of the initial Cu2+concentration and initial pH value in certain range. The fitting result between the test data and the adsorption isotherm models showed that the isothermal adsorption characters conform to Langmuir reaction isotherm adsorption characters. Thermodynamic study showed that the adsorption reaction was an endothermic reaction, the adsorption process was spontaneous. The process of adsorption Cu2+was in line with the quasi-second-order kinetics model.5. The laboratory studies indicated composite superabsorbent has good water absorption capacity in the soil. By adding composite superabsorbent resin in the experiment, the water content of soil samples also increased, thereby, the ability of inhibit evaporation was improved to soil. At the same times, volume swelling rate also was improved so that the soil permeability be enhanced. The composite superabsorbent resin also has good heat storage and insulation properties.
