| With the persistent overheating of the environmental protection industry in the recent years, the environmental impact assessment is highly valued by domestic populace. In the environmental impact assessment, how to calculate the pollutant source intensity correctly and efficiently has always been one of the focal points. It not only plays an important role in the engineering analysis, but also determines the forecast and evaluation result of a project. In calculating the quantity of pollutant discharged, the vast environmental assessment workers are frequently exposed to material balance algorithm, field measurement method and experience calculation method. Compared to the other two methods, material balance algorithm has wide application scope and are relatively stable and accurate during calculation, which deserve our emulation. To skillfully master material balance algorithm can not only largely improve the degree of accuracy during the check computation of pollutants, but also plays an important role on the examination and verification as well as emission reduction in the project.The paper takes the material balance algorithm as the research emphasis. It introduces the calculation principles and ideas of material balance algorithm, field measurement method and experience calculation method. In addition, it selects relevant examples to demonstrate. Through the comparison of the three kinds of calculation methods, the paper clarifies the thinking of the selection of subsequent cases and data analysis method. The paper also applies three realistic cases as well as statistical methods to conduct comparative argumentation towards the calculation results of the cases, thus reflecting the strengths and weaknesses of material balance algorithm on the check computation of pollutants.According to analytical calculation, material balance algorithm is most close to the selected standard values on the results of the check computation of pollutants. It shows that its calculating accuracy is much better than that of the other two methods. In addition, in the degree of stability, material balance algorithm is better than field measurement method and slightly weaker than experience calculation method. It owns satisfying stability.Material balance algorithm are stable and accurate; however, during the process of calculation, it requires meticulous engineering analysis and is a little bit difficult in application, therefore the field measurement method and experience calculation method are recommended to amend the measuring results of material balance algorithm. |
