Xinjiang is the important commodity cotton production base of our country.In recentyears, with the expansion of the cotton industry, the mechanization level of cotton processingare getting more demanding,and the low efficienct problem of manual cotton harvest has beensolved by the extensive use of cotton-picking machines,but subsequent seed cotton feederpart’s mechanization is at a low level. Existing seed cotton feeding machine can’t meetcontinuous, uniform and efficient feed requirements of the cotton ginning equipment,and itsmakes the seed cotton feeding part became the bottleneck in the process of machine harvestedcotton,so the design of a cotton feeder machine that can process scatter cotton and and modalcotton is particularly important.In this paper, by researching the status of cotton feeder in corps cotton processingenterprises, analyzing the service condition of three existing cotton feeder machines,researching the basic operation principle of seed cotton’s delivery,opening and feeding,confirms that the structure of the multifunction cotton feeder machine is consist of conveyingsystem and opening system,and then focuses researching and analysising on the key parts ofconveying system and opening system,at the last gets the structural parameters of themultifunction cotton feeder machine’s key parts. The main content of this paper included:1.By researching the structural parameters, performance characteristics and productionlimitation of the big chock feeder machine,the pit feeder machine and the open mouldmachine, analysising the working principle and opening method of seed cotton or cotton,makes the opening system of existing feeder machine as the basic structure of multifunctioncotton feeder machine.The conveying system is consist of four groups of guide rail that moverepetedly. Using the principle that the force of friction between seed cotton and forward guiderail is greater than the force of friction between seed cotton and back guide rail realizecontinuous, uniform and reliable of cotton conveying.2.The design of the whole frame structure, according to the basic size of vehicle, cottonmold and ensuring the continuity in the process,confirms the parameter, material andprocessing method. The frame adopts frame type structure,and the main beam adopts14#joiststeel.Builds the3D model with Solidworks, and applies ANSYS to verify the structure staticsmeet the requirements.3.The design of the guide rail and the guide sleeve,according to the requirements of thecotton mould and the scattered cotton’scontinuous, uniform conveying, confirms the dimenseparameters, material and corporation. Building the model with Solidworks and ANSYS,andanalysis stress distribution under typical working conditions to confirm the strength andstiffness of parts structure meet the requirements. 4. The paper has discussed the basic structure of the opening roller, analyzed barbed nailand roll the basic structure of the form, determined the opening roller’ structure parameters ofthe multifunctional feeder machine,and builded the3D model and the finite element analysis.The opening roller main suffers the force caused by its rotation and the pull effects of the pullnail in working,by loading and solve confirms the structure meet the requirements.The caculating results proves that the structure of the the multifunctional feedermachine’s key parts is reasonable and practicable.
