Heavy metals are important soil environmental pollutants which are a great threat to theecological and human environment,and the governance of heavy mental is very difficult.Thus, preventing heavy metals pollution from source becomes an useful measure. This articlechose Jiapigou goldmine in Jilin Province as the study area, and selected28soil samplingpoints in area of240km2around Jiapigou region in the spring of2012. Soil samples werecollected and the concentrations of21metal elements were measured by ICP-MS methods.The article chooses enrichment factor, factor analysis and UNMIX method to analyze thedistribution characteristics and possible sources of metal elements in soils, as well as getsheavy metal concentration contour maps by using kriging interpolation method, and verify thesource apportionment results through discussing the sampling message and metals’distribution. The paper gets the following main conclusions:①the concentrations ofHg,Pb,Cd,Ag,Mo exceeded Jilin Province soil background values and enriched obviously in28soil samples; the concentrations of Cr, Cu, Zn exceed the background value in somesampling points and enriched less; the remaining metals’ concentration is less than Jilinbackground value;②factor analysis method shows five factors: factor1represents humanactivities of mining tailings, traffic and garbage, and the source contribution is23.2%; factor2represents ore weathering and the source contribution is20.4%; factor3represents thepesticides, fertilizers and fuel combustion and the sources contribution is19.1%; factor4represents the transportation sources and the sources contribution is18.3%; factor5represents the soil parent material source, and the source contribution is8.9%,which is thelowest.③using UNMIX method resolves four pollution sources: the source1representshuman activities of transportation, ore mining and garbage, and the source contribution is39.1%; Source2represents the contribution of the weathering of rocks and biological effects,and the source contribution is13.87%;Source3is a comprehensive source of soil parentmaterial and chemical fertilizer, and the source contribution is23.93%;Source4representsiron ore mining and transportation sources, also belonging to human activities, and the sourcecontribution is22.89%. Factor analysis and UNMIX two analytical methods show that: thefactor loadings analytical results and the concentration parse results are basically the same,this two methods applied to the soil source apportionment have achieved accurate results.
