Developing proprietary coal slime separator was hot in recent years to solve the gap between the gravity separation and the float-and sink separation. The cyclone was widely used by virtue of its advantanges for its simple structure,convenience operating, saving place and so on. The results showed that the separation of the solide particle was done in ups and downs of the tube. It is necessary to research the tube-cone interim structure for the effective separarion.The three cones of20°,60°and90°acting as the interim of the tube and the cone was developed which based on the coal slime hydrocyclone gravity seperation column which patented by Taiyuan University of Tcehnology. The test result showed that the structure can produce three different kinds of products:overflow, side-overflow and underflow. The expermient was done with the structural and operating parameters.The results show that the ash of the overflow and the underflow in every particles firstly increase then decrease. The+0.125mmwas obvious, side-overflow was not. The ash of the overflow and the underflow of+0.125mm was60°>90°>20°. The underflow of the60°was high under the situation of the side-overflow is qualified. The thick particle,especial+0.5mm and0.25-0.5mm entered the quality of the overflow is little, less than10%, nevertheless the thin particle of-0.125mmis60%. The overflow play a obvious role in the classifition.The double experimental system was builded based on the new structuers and the coal slime hydrocyclone gravity seperation column. The overflow of first segment enter the second segment with the ring realizing the one-in-several-out.The second segment include two parts, the new structure and the straight-new structure. The experments was done with the diameter of the overflow, the depth of overflow tube, cone structure and so on. The results showed that the fiirst segment is effective, however the second segment is not obvious for some factes.Numerical simiulation was done for the three structures of20°,60and90°with the Computational Fluid Dynamics Fluent6.3. The tangential velocity, the axial velocity,the radial velocity, the pressure, the turbulent intensity was compared, in order to comparing the expeiment results.
