With the high speed development of coal production, mining under water body is of great significance to make full use of coal resource. Due to effect of overburden strata movement deformation and destruction, it is easy to form Water flowing fracture in mining under water.Then surface and underground water pours into working face,that will caused serious influence on safe production of coal mine. So, study on the height and distribution patterns of the water flowing fractured zone has important practical significance to the safety inproduction of coal mine and increase the recovery rate.Taking the Shaping Mine13202working face under the Yellow River as the research object, the author summarizes the Shaping Mine geological and hydrological conditions, and analyzes the formation process and influence factors of water flowing fractured zone. Based on the analysis of mining condition and overburden lithologic characteristics, using regression analysis method, a regressive formula of the height of water flowing fractured zone is presented. With the formation analysis method, comparing rock beam’s deflection at critical horizontal tensile deformation with maximum allowable space, we will find the rock stratum that blocks upward development of water flowing fractured zone, the height of Water flowing fractured zone was founded. According to numerical simulation, development form and the height of water flowing fractured zone is obtained. Combination of the three calculated the height of water flowing fractured zone, waterproof coal pillar’s height are obtained. Through the calculation of protective coal pillar width of the Yellow River,it shows that the width is less than the distance between the mine field boundary and the Yellow River sideline.Therefore, it meets the need of protective coal pillar as long as mining inside the boundary.Research has certain guiding significance to mining under water body in the Shaping mine. Afterwards the research provides reference for mining under water body.
