As a traditional Chinese medicine and food, the fruit of Ziziphus jujuba Mill, also being called jujubein English, has already aroused more and more attention of scholars both at home and abroad for itsexcellent pharmaceutical function. It is well known that the Jujube peel is the by-product of jujube deepprocessing but with a lower utilizating and Often be discarded as waste. This is not only a waste ofresources but also cause environmental pollution. This study analyzed the major bioactive components injujube peel by means of HPLC, UV-visible absorption spectrometry and TLCS technique in order toprovide theoretical foundation and basis for the development and application of the jujube peel. The maincontents are as follows:1. The research of bioactive components in jujube was reviewed, including extraction, isolation, determination, biological activity, application, and other aspects. The research subject was put forward onthis basis.2. The contents of in zizyphus jujube peel were detected by ultraviolet and visible spectrophotometry; The content of oleanolic acid in zizyphus jujube peel was detected by thin layer chromatography scanningand The HPLC method was applied to determine the content of cAMP in zizyphus jujube peel. The resultsshowed that the content of total polysaccharides, total flvaone, total saponins were81.3mg/g,3.527mg/g,27.85mg/g respectively. The linear range of calibration curve was60~360ng and the content of oleanolicacid in zizyphus jujube peel was2.409mg/g. The linear range of calibration curve was0.5g/mL-25g/mL and the content of cAMP in zizyphus jujube peel was10.13g/g. It set a foundation for thedevelopment and utilization of the fruit of Chinese jujube as functional foods and other related products.3. The flash extraction method was employed to extract polyphenolics from jujube peel. A quantitativedetermination method for polyphenolics content in jujube peel was developed by using Folin-Ciocalteucolorimetry with gallic acid as reference compound. The results showed that the proposed method has ahigh extraction efficiency when compared with the ultrasonic extraction.4. The contents of total polyphenolics, total polysaccharides, total saponins, oleanolic acid and cAMPin the extracts from Jujube Peel by the proposed flash extraction method were analyzed as indexcomponents. The results showed that the content of these components were12.4%、9.32%、3.56%、1.35%, It can provide a reference for further research to evaluate the quality of the extracts from Jujube Peel.
