Carbofuran is a kind of pesticide which is widely used in agriculture because of its advantages such as effectivity, broad-spectrum, and systematicness. Carbofuran is very harmful to people and animals because it could easily cause environment pollution, even residue in animal tissues through the food chain.A capillary gas chromatography with thermionic specific detection method is developed for determining the residue of carbofuran in tissues of aquatic animal’s muscle.After pretreatment, the tissue samples were extracted by acetonitrile twice and combined them. The extraction was concentrated by rotary evaporation then diluted to5mL with acetonitrile.8mL n-hexane was added, vortex mixed then the hexane layer was discarded and repeat once to degrease sufficiently. The acetonitrile layer was dried by nitrogen.1mL methanol and1mL water was added to dissolve. Mix the aqueous phase with5mL ethyl acetate and repeat once. The extraction was joined and cleaned it up by a neutral alumina column. The residue was dissolved with lmL ethyl acetate and analyzed by capillary gas chromatography with a thermionic-specific detector.The linear range is from O.Olmg/L to10mg/L, regression equation of standard curve Y=16269X-845.4and r was0.9995.The average recoveries are81.20%-95.80%when samples are spiked with0.04-0.2mg/kg. The relative standard deviations are2.86%~8.70%. The detection limit of carbofuran is O.Olmg/kg. The intra-day precisions are1.05%~4.58%and inter-day precisions are3.70%-7.45%. The method is proved to be simple and accurate. The accuracy and precision of quantitative analysis are met with the requirements.
