With the global shortage of available fresh water resources, and water pollution hasbeen increasing, the sewage treatment is more and more arousing people’s attention. Inorder to achieve the sustainable development of China’s economic, the reuse of waterwith sewage treatment technology is very important. Improve the efficiency of sewagetreatment, and sewage treatment automatic control has also become the focus ofresearch in recent years. Based on the city sewage treatment system as researchbackground, a monitoring system of urban sewage treatment was designed andimplemented.The sewage treatment plant uses MUCT treatment processing, the sewagetreatment capacity of10000m3/d. The sewage treatment monitoring system consists ofthree parts, the field station, PLC control station and PC monitoring system. the fieldstation has PLC control units and field instrumentation. PLC control unit main functionis manual control of field devices, and instrument mainly used for field device statusand data collection; the main function of PLC control station is the conversion of data,automatic control equipment and data communications; PC monitoring system,real-time monitoring and remote control of all aspects of the sewage treatment process,as well as alarm reporting and other functions.Based on roundly analyzing of the processing, this paper gives the whole design ofthe system, the configuration of PLC station, the establishment of communicationnetwork system and the development for PC monitoring system. In addition, the designof the automatic control program has been finished. After commissioning and trialoperation of the system, the results show that the stable operation of the monitoringsystem, reliable, easy to operate, and to deal with water quality standards applicable tothe production requirements of the city’s sewage treatment plant.
