Three-dimension (3D) graphene of excellent electrical conductivity, large surfacearea and3D cross-linked porous structure has attracted increasing attentions.Recently, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is the main method to preparehigh-quality3D graphene, which employ metal foams (Ni, Cu etc.) as catalysttemplates. Although, it is facile to obtain the high-quality graphene, the issues of highporosity, low density and weak mechanical strength restrict the practical applicationsof3D graphene. Therefore, it is significant to synthesize high-quality andhigh-density3D graphene by a facile, rapid and high efficiency process. Herein, wedevelop a rapid CVD synthesis of high-density3D-GMOs grown on3D porouscross-linked Ni skeleton catalysts fabricated by the reduction of nickel chloridehexahydrate (NiCl2·6H2O) crystalline. After etching the templates, we obtain the3Dgraphene with high density, large surface area and high conductivity. The as-prepared3D graphene/PDMS composites exhibit better mechanical performance than that ofNi foam-based3D graphene. The new high-density3D-GMOs with the outstandingproperties fabricated by this highly efficient CVD technique have significant potentialapplications for the polymer composites, energy-storage composite materials, thermally conductive media, catalyst supports, electromagnetic interference shieldingmaterials and so on.
