It was studied the changes of dissolved organic matter concentration in HunheRiver during the freezing processes of waters by the Indoor simulating tests, and thechanges of characteristics DOM were examined by fluorescence emission,synchronous-scan excitation, and ultraviolet–visible (UV/Vis). The results showedthat the concentration of DOM in water gradually increased while as low as in ice, that present the freeze-concentration effect, during the freezing processes of water. Inaddition, it was also observed that freeze-concentration of ultraviolet absorptionsubstances and fluorescent materials. The freezing and thawing action of waterresulted in changes in the fluorescence characteristics of DOM. The λ0.5values andaromaticity of DOM in water, as well as the relative contents of organics with highlysubstituted aromatic structures DOM in water, increased during the freezingprogresses of water. |
