Preparing of the yellow P(MMA-co-N-AQ) microspheres: Firstly, the yellow dye,N-(9,10-dioxo-9,10-dihydro-anthracen-1-yl)-acrylamid (N-AQ) was obtained by reaction of1-aminoanthraquinone with acryloyl chloride in dichloromethane. The N-AQ structure wascharacterized by Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and proton nuclearmagnetic resonance (1H NMR). The results show that N-AQ has clear structure. Then, theyellow P (MMA-co-N-AQ) microspheres were prepared via dispersion polymerization usingmethyl methacrylate (MMA) and reactive N-AQ. The shape, size and uniformity of P(MMA-co-N-AQ) microspheres were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM)and zeta potential and particle size analyzer. The amount of N-AQ in microspheres wasanalyzed by ultraviolet-visible absorption spectrometry (UV-Vis). The result showed that theconversion rate of reactive N-AQ reaches93.6%. The diameter of resulting microspheres wascontrolled in range from1μm to10μm with changing N-AQ amount in feed. It was found thatresulting yellow microspheres have surface smooth and particle size uniform.Preparing of the red P(MMA-GMA)-(R-AQ) microspheres: Firstly, the red dye,1-(6-aminohexyl)-aminoanthraquinone(R-AQ) was synthesized by1-chloro-anthraquinonewith hexamethylenediamine in acetonitrile. The dye was characterized by FTIR and1H NMR.The results show that reactive N-AQ has clear structure, the rate reaches91.2%.Simultaneously, the functional P (MMA-GMA) microspheres were obtained by dispersioncopolymerization of MMA and GMA. The results of FTIR and SEM show thatP(MMA-GMA) microspheres have surface smooth and particle size uniform. The test of thevalue of epoxy show that GMA has a high reactive in the copolymerization system. Finally,the red P(MMA-GMA)-(R-AQ) microspheres were synthesized by the functional P(MMA-GMA) microspheres with R-AQ in the meth/water. The red microspheres werecharacterized by FTIR、SEM、OM、Digital Camera. The results show that the microspheresafter grafting N-AQ still keep the features of particle size uniform and surface smooth. Whenthe volume of dye reaches2wt%, the red microspheres mainly is beautiful in colors.The preparing of the red P(MMA-GMA)-(R-AQ) microspheres were used in powdered ink of colored laser printer. The properties of red microspheres were tested through the print of Sumsung printer. The basic properties of the powdered ink before andafter print was characterized by OM、SEM and DC. The results show that before laser print the colored microsphere has a good color、spherical intact、Uniform particle size and surface smooth. The colored microspheres have some deformations after print,no longer intact spherical. It explains that the colored microspheres have good adhesive force with paper. In the meantime, the chromatism of the colored microspheres before and after print is small. The test results show that the red microspheres basic meets the basic conditions as the toner. The digital photos of comprehensive test show that Printed test paper bright-colored color, line clear, toner cover rate is high.
