In recent years, with the development of sculpture technology, special processing materials used in sculpture technology have become a trend. The sculpture product as raw material have already been used in a wide range, while fast, accurate wax engraving technology also has a very good market prospects. Designing an efficient and accurate engraving machine of paraffin processing for paraffin products is widely used to market breakthrough. Based on evelopment situation and market needs of sculpture carving machine at home and abroad, statue carving machine had been designed and researched as a processing method of hot corrosion for wax.According to the physical characteristics of paraffin, the paper firstly analyzed the working conditions in hot-knife processing. As it, devised a special cutting tool (hot-knife) structure and described the working principle of the processing hot-knife; while discussed the factors affecting hot-knife efficiency and have come to reasonable working parameters with orthogonal test analysis. Secondly, according to processing requirements, the five-axis CNC machine’s mechanical structure of overall programme and structure design had been given, and described the working principle and the modes of motion of the five-axis CNC machine; analysised body assembly and completed important parts of computing design. Then, analysised the method of the hot knife temperature control, and given the principle of environmental temperature control system and implement control methods while five-axis CNC machine working. Concludes with a brief design in the control system of hardware and software components of engraving machine, that is, in the hardware section, the overall programme of motion control was given according to the control requirements, and based on PLC’s control principle of numerical control system and step motor drive mode, the selection themselves was given; in the software section, the software of the control scheme and the principle design of NC system were described, and introduced the selection of interpolation method of software design and its finally painted the PLC hardware wiring diagram.Currently, scan technology and equipment through photographing or scanning statue to get an outline three dimensional coordinates has become more and more mature, and people’s demand for paraffin. Wax carving machine has a high practical value and business value. In addition, the five-axis wax carving machine had simpler structure and lower cost, for paraffin products to enter the market to provide theory and reference.
