Fly ash is a large amount of industrial wastes produced from the power plant which have resulted in more and more environmental pollution. According to itself properties, the resource-oriented utilization of fly ash in agriculture, environmental protection, materials, chemical engineering and other industries are reported. As a potential and reproducible resource, comprehensive utilization of fly ash has a double significance in economic value and environmental protection. But its research in catalysis domain has rarely been reported. According to the composition of catalytic cracking catalyst of oil mainly is aluminosilicate, and fly ash also contains aluminosilicate, fly ash have been used as solid acid catalyst materials as new ideas in this paper. In this paper, catalytic cracking of waste polystyrene and waste polypropylene with fly ash modified by liquid acid had been studied. Temperature, time and catalyst amount used on the rate of waste plastic cracking also had been discussed. The results showed that:Conversion of waste polystyrene, yield of oil was82.0%under degradation conditions of60min at380℃when catalyst was used. Conversion of waste polypropylene, yield of oil was77.7%under degradation conditions of45min at420℃when catalyst was used. On the basis of experiment, a new technology has been designed, which fuel oil could be obtained by catalytic cracking of waste plastic with modified fly ash.Cyclohexanone glycol ketal had been synthesized from cyclohexanone and ethylene glycol in the presence of a late-model catalyzer, which was prepared by fly ash as raw material. Various reaction parameters such as the molar ratio of cyclohexanone to ethylene glycol, amount of catalyst, reaction time, water-carrying reagent amount and other factors influencing the synthesis were discussed and the best conditions were found out. The results showed that molar ratio of cyclohexanone to ethylene glycol was1:1.4, the amount of catalyst was equal to2.0wt.%cyclohexanone, and amount of cyclohexane was10mL, the reaction time2h, the yield of cyclohexanone ethylene ketal reached to99.6%under the optimum condition. It is proved that the catalyst has a higher activity to condensation reaction and can be used repeated. The synthesis of fructone from ethyl acetoacetate and ethylene glycol using fly ash modified by ammonium peroxydisulfate as solid acid catalyst was investigated. Various reaction parameters such as reaction time, ratio of ethyl acetoacetate to ethylene glycol, catalyst amount and water-carrying reagent amount were studied. The optimum reaction conditions were that:the molar ratio of ethyl acetoacetate to ethylene glycol was1:1.8, the quantity of catalyst was equal to1.5wt.%by weight of ethyl acetaoacetate, amount of cyclohexane was15mL, and the reaction time was3h. Under this optimum condition, the yield of fructone and selectivity of fructone reached95.9%and98.0%, respectively.
