| Nowadays, the regional ecological safety is getting even worse. The environmentalproblems, such as greenhouse effect, ozonosphere breakage and acid rain, arerecognized as causations of the global environment crisis which seriously affecting allaspects of people’s normal life. Because of a lack of knowledge in the ecologicalsecurity issues, the relevant information limited to the basic theory and no quantitativeresearch, to a certain extent, the problem of ecological safety tends to a more difficultdirection. Particularly, Chongqing is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze Riverand the tail of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area. Since Chongqing became one of themunicipality cities in1997, a large scale of infrastructure construction carries out andthe urban sprawl spreads unusually rapid which result to a harsh contradiction betweenunreasonable land utilization and environment protection. On the other side, after theThree Gorges Dam established, most fertile farmlands around the reservoir area areflooded. This kind of environmental issue is very severe in Chongqing because of itsmountain-ecosystem feature. Although some scholars are aware of this environmentalproblem and have gradually launched theoretical discussion about it, the ecologicalsecurity applied research in Chongqing is present in the theory phase and in absence ofpractical applications. Accordingly, the government hopes to promote the ecologicalsecurity alarm, optimization of land use and dynamic monitoring of the ecologicalenvironment on the purpose of providing scientific suggestions for the sustainabledevelopment.In this paper, we adopted “3Sâ€(Remote sensing, Geography information systems,Global positioning systems) technique and combined with a series of mathematicalmodels to build up a comprehensive evaluation system of ecological security. Besides,the Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a popular mathematical modeling research hasbeen used in the remote sensing processing to quickly identify typical object in the landuse classification. Meanwhile, a bunch of systematic researches and trials are conductedto compare the methods that predict the ecological safety index. For instance, themethods of Multivariable Grey Model, Radical Basic Function Network and SupportVector Regression are applied to predict types of ecological safety indexes for nine maindistricts of Chongqing. The data from analysis and comparison on the three methodsassist in monitoring and warning the environmental issues. Finally, a software program named “Assessment system and precautionary approach for Chongqing’s ecologicalsafety†is invented and aimed at evaluating the environmental situation in Chongqing.In addition, this software is approved by Chongqing Software Testing Center. |
