Elbow is the main connecting piece of pressure piping, and by far, the seamlesselbow can be manufactured by the method of cold pushing, hot pushing and stampingtechnology, among which cold-bending still occupies an important position in elbowproduction. Although push cold bend has outstanding advantages, the deformation law iscomplex and the manufacturing process is hard to control, so it is necessary to study oncold-bending technology to improve this technology and to provide technical support forthe establishment of elbow production process. In this paper, the finite element simulation software ABAQUS is used to establish anelbow push finite element model to get the optimized size of the pipe, a method to obtainaccurate tube billet size is presented, and a new tube billet blanking process is established, which improves the way used by traditional measurement methods and experience to getthe tube billet size, as well as material utilization, and reduces the production cost. This paper also compares the finite element simulation results and actual productionbase on the simulation analysis of the cold bend pushing process, and convinces thereliability of finite element simulation, and use this method to determine the pipe size ofΦ273×8elbow, and convinced that using backstepping simulation to get the accuratepipe size is feasible.By using orthogonal experiment method, the optimized parameters of cold-pushingprocess of Φ508×8and Φ219×8elbow are obtained. Then cold pushing forming elbowsare measured and the results are analyzed, the bend end parameters such as bend thicknessuniformity, face ovality are examined, which have all reached the pipe standards.
