In this paper, taking Haibowan mining area as the object of study, by gas geologytheory as the guide, combining with previous research achievements, to analysistectonic evolution of Ordos Basin and its western edge. The mining area locates at thenorthwest margin of Ordos Basin which under the control of the table mountain to theHillock del mountain fold thrust belts, so the geological structure is very complex thathave a huge effect on coal seam gas preservation and migration in mining area.Through the geological and gas data collection and analysis in mining area, Hillockdel and west to peak reverse fault flanks of No.16coal seam gas content varies greatlyin mining area, so this as a dividing line, the mining area is divided into two geologicalunit, respectively from different geological factors analysis its the influence of coalseam gas occurrence, and find out the main control factors, and on this basis usesoftware of the SPSS establish mathematical model of multiple linear regression canobtain coal seam gas content prediction formulas: The prediction formula of the firstgeological unit is X=1.049+0.044x1-0.170x2, the second geological unit isX=-0.935+0.003x1+0.171x2. Combine with gas content prediction result, using separatesource forecasting method for predict working face gas emission within the mining areaof different production mine. According to “Coal and gas outburst preventionprovisions”, forecasted the danger of coal seam outburst zone, the first geological unituse gas pressure index, when coal depth to189.22m, the gas pressure is0.74MPa, soprediction the depth following189.22m is the outburst dangerous zone. The secondgeological unit use gas content index, the maximum depth of650m place for gascontent2.47m3/t, its far less than8m3/t, so in mining, the second geological unit No.16coal seam without the danger of coal and gas outburst.
