In heavy plate industry, plate temperature is a key factor involved with the sizeprecision and physical quality of products. It is necessary to monitor and control platetemperature to ensure product quality. And as a result of thickness of heavy plate andother interruption factors, it is impossible to get the actual finishing temperature bytemperature sensors. Therefore, it is of great significance to research on the changingsurface temperature and inner temperature field model. In this thesis, temperature modeling for medium and heavy plate milling isstudied based on the background of a plate milling system in China. The main work ofthe thesis is as follows:At first, various influences on temperature in plate rolling are considered and aseries of boundary temperature conditions are given by using the field statistics dataand experience formulas. And more, the temperature model of plates are establishedvia2-dimension finite difference equations. Compared with the traditional method, this improved new model overcomes low precision, poor adaptability and othershortcomings. New model adds several functions such as grids reconstructing and canpredict temperatures of various steel grades well. Then, the temperature curve generated by this model is depicted based on actualfield data and it is able to reflect the actual trend of the changing strip temperatureduring milling. Finally, experiments show that the error between the outputtemperature value of model and actual value is very small. This shows that the modelhas higher calculation accuracy, and can be applied in the actual heavy plate millingsystem. At last, based on the improved modeling method, heavy plate temperaturesimulation software system is developed in.Net platform.
