Large inflatable space deployable structures that can fold package before launch anddeploy reliable after orbit have deserved great attention at home and abroad. Currentlyused materials are mainly the shape memory epoxy-resin matrix composites. Because ofthe epoxy resin bad impact resistance performance limiting its application, this paperused self-made polyester types of polyurethane (PU) and epoxy-resin (EP)forminginterpenetrating networks system (IPNs) for toughening, then changed curing agent fortoughening to research the shape memory performance and mechanical propertiesaiming to define the best toughening proportion and theory curing degree based on theexcellent shape memory performance. Make aramid and carbon fiber cloth reinforcedshape memory polyurethane/epoxy-resin matrix composites to explore the influence ofthe fiber to the system shape memory and mechanical properties.In this paper we made a series of E-U interpenetrating networks toughening systemsthat has different toughening proportions and theory curing degrees using the593curing agent, and analyze variation rhythms of the shape memory and mechanicalproperties for the systems by IR scanning, DMA, the shape memory performance test,mechanical properties test and SEM scanning. The results show that the20/100toughening proportion,70%theory curing degree E-U IPNs has both good shapememory performance and the best toughening effect. Its tensile strength is46.75MPaand impact strength is5.94KJ/m2increasing220%than the system without toughening.Keep the above best toughening ratio and the best theory cure degree, make MTHPAand BDMA curing system to research the influence of the different curing agent. Theresults suggest that the tensile strength increases and the elongation at break decreases.The impact strength of the MTHPA system increases by1.18%and the impact strengthof the BDMA system decreases by5.31%than that of the593system.We munafacture aramid and carbon fiber cloth reinforced the shape memory E-UIPNs by anhydride curing, because the MTHPA curing agent has long applicable time,good toughen effect and ensure resin fully dipping fiber cloth. By the shape memoryand mechanical properties test, we find the shape memory ability and mechanicalproperties of the E-U system reinforced by fiber cloth are improved both.
